- 3If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps, then install TVPN.
- 4Open TVPN and sign in with your email and password.
- 5Tap OK when Android asks to set up a VPN connection.
- 6Pick a server and tap Connect.
What the Android app includes
Besides the server list and protocol choice, the Android app has per-app split tunneling: a list of installed apps where you tick the ones that should skip the VPN. The kill switch and Plus or Pro filters are in the same settings screen.
A quick settings tile lets you connect from the notification shade without opening the app.
Settings we suggest
Open Android Settings, then Network, then VPN, tap the gear next to TVPN and turn on Always-on VPN. Turning on Block connections without VPN as well means apps cannot reach the internet while the tunnel is down.
Keep your bank app or a delivery app that checks your location in split tunneling if it refuses to work over a VPN address.
Common problems
Some phone makers close background apps aggressively to save battery, which drops the VPN. Set TVPN to unrestricted in the battery settings for the app.
If installation stops with a message about unknown apps, go back to Settings and allow installs for the browser you used. You can switch that permission off again after TVPN is installed.
