How it works
Your device connects to the first server, which passes the encrypted traffic on to a second server. Sites you visit see the IP address of the second server.
The first server knows where the connection came from but not where it is going. The second server knows the destination but not your original IP. Neither one keeps logs.
When to use it
Double VPN suits sensitive work on networks you do not trust, or cases where you simply want more distance between your device and the sites you open.
For everyday browsing, streaming or gaming, a single server is usually the better choice. One server already encrypts your traffic and hides your IP.
Speed and distance
Traffic takes a longer path, so pages load more slowly and latency goes up. How much depends on where the two servers are and how far they are from you.
Picking servers in or near your region keeps the slowdown smaller. A route that crosses continents will feel noticeably slower.
Connecting with Double VPN
Double VPN is included in Plus and Pro. It has its own section in the server list, where each entry shows both servers on the route.
Choose a route and connect as usual. The kill switch and the other settings apply in the same way as with one server.
- Open TVPN and go to the server list
- Open the Double VPN tab
- Pick a route and tap Connect
