Ad and tracker blocking
Many pages load ads and tracking scripts from separate addresses. When the blocker is on, requests to known ad and tracking addresses are stopped, so those ads and scripts never reach your device.
Pages often load with less clutter, and fewer companies get to follow you from site to site. Because it works at the connection level, it also applies inside apps where you cannot install a browser extension.
Malicious site blocking
The second filter stops connections to addresses known for phishing and malware. If you click a bad link in a message or an ad, the page does not open.
No filter knows every bad site, especially new ones. Treat it as one more layer, and keep your system and apps updated.
Turning the filters on
Both filters are included in Plus and Pro. They are separate switches, so you can use one without the other.
The filters work only while TVPN is connected. Apps that you excluded with split tunneling are not filtered.
- Open TVPN and go to Settings > Protection
- Turn on Ad and tracker blocking, Malicious site blocking, or both
- Reconnect if you were already connected
If a site stops working
Now and then a site depends on a script that looks like a tracker, and a button or a login form stops working. Turn off ad and tracker blocking for a moment and reload the page.
If that fixes it, you can keep using the site with the filter off, then turn it back on afterwards. Malicious site blocking rarely causes this, so it is fine to leave it on.
