Shared networks outside the office
Coworking spaces and cafes put many people on one network. Encrypting your connection keeps email, documents and chat traffic away from the people running or sharing it.
At home, TVPN keeps your internet provider from seeing which sites and services you use during the day.
Using TVPN with your company VPN
If your company gives you its own VPN, follow your company's rules first. Running two VPNs at once often causes conflicts.
Split tunneling can help. Exclude the company VPN client or work apps from TVPN, so they connect the way your IT team expects, while your browser and personal apps stay on TVPN. Check with your IT team before you change anything.
- Go to Settings > Split tunneling
- Choose to exclude selected apps
- Add the company VPN client or work apps and reconnect
A fixed IP for allowlists
Servers, admin panels and some cloud tools only accept connections from approved IP addresses. A shared VPN IP changes, so it does not work well for this.
The Pro plan includes one dedicated IP in one of 10 countries. Give that address to the system owner once, and you can reach it from home or on a trip.
Video calls and large files
There is no data cap or speed limit, so long calls and big uploads are fine. For calls, connect to a server near you and choose WireGuard for the shortest delay.
If a call app struggles on the VPN, you can exclude it with split tunneling and keep the rest of your traffic protected.
