What TVPN does for streaming
Your video traffic goes through an encrypted tunnel, so the network you are on cannot see what you watch. Some internet providers slow down video traffic at busy hours, and encryption makes that harder for them to do.
With servers in 44 countries, you can also connect from abroad to a server in your home country and keep using services you already pay for, as long as their terms allow it.
What a VPN cannot promise
Streaming services decide for themselves which regions they serve, and many try to detect VPN traffic. A service may work on one server and not on another, and that can change over time. TVPN does not promise access to any particular service or catalog.
Check the terms of each service you use. Using a VPN may also be restricted by law in some countries, so check local rules when you travel.
Settings for smooth playback
Distance affects speed the most. Use the server closest to you, or the closest one in the country you need.
WireGuard usually gives the best speed. If video keeps buffering, try another server in the same city before changing protocols.
- Go to Settings > Connection > Protocol and choose WireGuard
- Connect to a nearby server
- If playback stutters, switch to another server in the same city or country
On a TV or a set-top box
There is a TVPN app for Android TV. Install it from your dashboard after you buy a plan, then sign in with your email and password.
For TVs and devices without a VPN app, you can set up TVPN on your router with a WireGuard configuration file. Every device on that network then goes through the VPN.
